The Reserve Bank of India has announced the appointment of Usha Janakiraman as Executive Director (ED), effective immediately, as per a recent statement.

About Usha Janakiraman

Janakiraman was previously serving as Chief General Manager-in-Charge, Department of Regulation, where she gained valuable experience in various areas, including regulation, external investment and operations, banking supervision, public debt management, currency management, and more.

Key Responsibilities and Experience

Janakiraman has over three decades of experience in the RBI, working in various capacities.
She was part of the core team that consolidated over 9,000 RBI circulars into 244.
As ED, she will oversee the Department of Supervision (Risk, Analytics, and Vulnerability Assessment).

Qualifications and Future Plans

Janakiraman holds a CA (Chartered Accountant) qualification and will be responsible for managing the Department of Supervision (Risk, Analytics, and Vulnerability Assessment) as ED.
