Company Background
Shiprocket Ltd. was incorporated as a private limited company, named “Bigfoot Retail Solutions Private Limited," in Delhi on September 28, 2011. Subsequently, on July 19, 2024, the company changed its name to “Shiprocket Private Limited."
Shiprocket has its headquarters in Sultanpur, New Delhi and its corporate office in Gurugram, Haryana. The company has changed its business model multiple times to not just be a simple shipping aggregator but also a complete technology solution for e-commerce businesses for MSMEs and digital retailers in India, to enable them to sell directly to consumers across multiple channels.
On February 18, 2025, the company converted into a public limited company to proceed with its public listing procedures.
Operations & Product Range
The Shiprocket Ltd. business model revolves around the creation of an integrated technology solution for automation of the entire e-commerce value chain for merchants. The activities of the company can be schematically structured across two major segments:
- • Core Business: The domestic shipping platform and shipping apps, which offer end-to-end logistics services across India. The platform employs an AI-based order management and logistics provider allocation system.
- • Emerging Business: This business vertical encompasses the cargo business, cross-border shipping and fulfillment services, which enable Indian merchants to access global marketplaces.
The company also provides specialised shipping tools, such as Shiprocket Checkout, which simplifies the payment integration process for merchants and Shiprocket Capital, which, through partnerships with Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs), provides working capital to merchants. It primarily targets SMEs, as well as digitally native brands that are looking to build an online retail presence as quickly as possible.
Facilities & Capacity
Shiprocket Ltd. adopts a technology-first, asset-light model, allowing for more effective capacity management compared to traditional manufacturers. Its defining feature is digital capability, supported by a multi-tenant cloud system that enhances scalability and reliability. As of September 30, 2025, the company employs 342 specialists in product and technology, dedicated to platform maintenance and improvement. Although it lacks manufacturing plants, its operations are bolstered by a strong network of ecosystem partners and fulfilment centres, ensuring efficient transaction fulfilment.
Brands & Market Presence
Shiprocket Ltd. has established its well-known image in the Indian e-commerce ecosystem and it is recognised as a trusted partner to independent sellers. Apart from domestic shipping, the company has extended its operations beyond the Indian market through various sub-brands and niche offerings such as Shiprocket Omuni for omnichannel retail and Shiprocket Co-Pilot, an AI assistant for sellers. In the Indian market, Shiprocket Ltd. has a strong presence and is recognized for serving millions of end-customers via its network of merchants.
Revenue Streams & Business Model
Shiprocket Ltd. operates as a tech-enabled e-commerce enablement platform using an asset-light aggregation model. The business primarily generates revenue by offering shipping aggregation, cross-border trade, automated checkout, fulfillment, and marketing SaaS solutions to direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands and small merchants. Revenue streams are split between core domestic shipping—monetized via wholesale-to-retail courier rate margins—and high-growth emerging businesses such as international shipping, warehousing, and automated SaaS tools.
Financial Performance

However, investors must be aware of both sides of the company, from strengths to potential risks. Key strengths include an asset-light SaaS model, broad merchant base, strong network effects, and marquee institutional backing. Key risks involve ongoing net losses, intense industry competition, and operational dependency on third-party delivery partners. Overall, the IPO offers attractive exposure to India's expanding D2C ecosystem through an established platform, though investors must balance top-line growth against delayed net profitability.
