Synopsis
The Binge Town secured Rs 2 crore from Varun Alagh on Shark Tank India, comprising Rs 1 crore for 2.5% equity and Rs 1 crore debt at 15% interest. The private theatre-based celebration venue chain will use the funds for expansion, including new city launches and franchise growth in Tier II and III markets.
The Binge Town, a private theatre-based celebration venue chain, has secured Rs 2 crore on Shark Tank India, comprising Rs 1 crore for 2.5% equity, valuing the company at Rs 40 crore and Rs 1 crore as debt at 15% interest, from Varun Alagh, Co-Founder & CEO of Mamaearth.
However, during the Shark Tank India pitch, the company also received a Rs 8 crore offer from Anupam Mittal. For the brand’s current phase of expansion and operational scale-up, the founders chose to proceed with Varun Alagh’s proposal, which they felt was best aligned with their immediate business priorities and scaling requirements.
Along with capital, Varun Alagh will extend strategic support through industry networks, cross-branding opportunities, platform integrations including BookMyShow/District, and long-term growth guidance.
The funds will be deployed to accelerate expansion, strengthen post-Shark Tank brand visibility, and deepen the brand’s focus on becoming a full-fledged celebration platform, supporting new city launches, franchise-led expansion across Tier II and Tier III markets, marketing initiatives, and operational strengthening.
Chetan Agrawal, Co-founder, The Binge Town said in a statement, “Pitching on Shark Tank pushed us to look at our business with greater depth and clarity. The process, insights, and validation we received have helped sharpen our growth strategy and will play an important role in strengthening our brand as we scale. Beyond capital, Mr. Varun’s industry expertise, network, and market reach will open doors to valuable partnerships and connections, accelerating our growth journey.”
