Bandhan AMC has announced the launch of the Arudha Equity Long-Short Fund under its Specialised Investment Funds (SIF) platform, Arudha SIF. The open-ended equity strategy will open for subscription on March 5 and close on March 18.
The fund has been introduced under the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s SIF framework, which allows asset managers to offer more flexible and strategy-oriented investment products beyond traditional mutual fund categories.
According to the scheme details, the strategy will allocate a minimum of 80% and up to 100% of its portfolio to equity and equity-related instruments. It may also take short unhedged derivative exposure of up to 25%. The fund aims to generate equity-like returns with volatility levels comparable to hybrid funds.
The investment approach combines long positions in selected stocks with short exposure and derivative strategies. The portfolio will be structured around four components — long equity, short equity, covered calls and debt — with dynamic allocation across these segments depending on market conditions. The strategy seeks to participate in rising markets, generate income in range-bound phases, and provide downside management during market declines.
Vishal Kapoor, Chief Executive Officer of Bandhan AMC, said the long-short framework is designed to balance growth participation with structured risk management, particularly in volatile and shifting market environments.
