Sriram Venkatraman will step down as group chief financial officer (CFO) of Flipkart ahead of the company’s planned IPO
Sriram Venkatraman will step down as group chief financial officer (CFO) of Flipkart ahead of the company’s planned initial public offering (IPO), the Walmart-owned e-commerce firm announced on March 20.
Venkatraman, who joined Flipkart in 2015 and held multiple leadership roles, has been heading the group’s finance function since 2018. According to company sources, he has gradually reduced his operational involvement over the past six months.
He will be succeeded by long-time Flipkart executive Ravi Iyer.
Iyer, who has been with the company since 2014 and most recently served as CFO of Flipkart’s marketplace arm, will now oversee the broader finance organisation, the company said.
The Bengaluru-based firm has been grooming Iyer for a larger role for some time. In June 2025, he was appointed CFO of the marketplace business, signalling a planned leadership transition.
“Sriram has been a valued member of the leadership team and has played an important role in strengthening our finance organisation over the years. We thank him for his contributions and wish him the very best for the future," said Kalyan Krishnamurthy, group CEO, Flipkart.
