SBI Mutual Fund had the highest cash allocation of Rs 31,272 crore which was 4.28% of the total AUM. The largest fund house based on assets managed had an equity AUM of Rs 6.99 lakh crore in September.
PPFAS Mutual Fund had Rs 28,152 crore cash in its portfolio which was 22.46% of the total AUM. The fund house had an equity AUM of Rs 97,210 crore in September.
HDFC Mutual Fund had Rs 26,851 crore cash in its portfolio in September which was nearly 6.23% of the total AUM. The fund house had an equity AUM of Rs 4.04 lakh crore in September.
ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund had Rs 25,571 crore cash in its portfolio in September which was nearly 5.33% of the total AUM. The fund house had an equity AUM of Rs 4.54 lakh crore in September.
Axis Mutual Fund had Rs 10,619 crore cash in its portfolio. This cash allocation was 5.34% of the total AUM. The fund house had an equity AUM of Rs 1.88 lakh crore in September.
Based on the percentage of the total AUM, Samco Mutual Fund had the highest cash allocation of around 24.90%, followed by PPFAS Mutual Fund whose allocation was 22.46% of the total AUM.
Eight mutual funds saw a decline of over Rs 3,000 crore in their respective AUMs in August. At present, there are 48 AMCs, including one new entrant. Of the remaining 47, 21 reported a decline in AUM (Source: ACE MF).
