Dividend Stock: Vedanta unit to pay shareholders ₹4,648 crore as first payout

Vedanta subsidiary Hindustan Zinc Ltd. has approved its first interim dividend for FY27, the company said in an exchange filing on Friday, April 24.
The company declared an interim dividend of ₹11 per equity share (550% on a face value of ₹2), amounting to ₹4,648 crore.
The record date for the payout has been set as Thursday, April 30, 2026, and the dividend will be paid within the stipulated timelines.
Hindustan Zinc also reported its March quarter results, which were broadly strong but fell short on margins.
Net profit rose 67% YoY to ₹5,033 crore, beating the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹4,650 crore. Revenue increased 49% YoY to ₹13,544 crore, ahead of expectations of ₹11,999 crore.
EBITDA came in at ₹7,706 crore, up 60% YoY and above the poll estimate of ₹7,177 crore. EBITDA margins expanded 390 bps YoY to 56.9%, but missed estimates of 59.3%.
Vedanta Ltd. continues to hold a majority stake in Hindustan Zinc.
Shares of Hindustan Zinc were trading 2.8% lower at ₹575.50. The stock is down about 6% so far this year.
