Bank holidays in December 2025: full state-wise list released by RBI
A new month has begun, and with it comes a detailed list of bank holidays that will affect services across different states. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the official holiday schedule for December 2025 under its 2025–26 calendar.
This month includes several regional festivals, historical observances, and cultural celebrations that lead to 13 state-wise holidays.
Apart from these regional holidays, all banks in India will remain closed on Sundays, as well as on the second and fourth Saturdays. This means several states will experience long breaks, especially where festivals fall close to weekends.
According to the RBI’s official calendar, a total of 13 state-level bank holidays will be observed this month. These days are declared based on significant cultural events, regional festivals, statehood anniversaries, and important historical milestones.
This is in addition to the standard weekly closures, meaning that customers should plan cash withdrawals, branch visits, and document-related work.

These longer breaks may slow down cheque processing, draft issuance, and other branch-based services.
Even though branches will be closed, digital banking services remain fully active across India.
Customers can still use:
