Company Background

Shreeji Shipping Global Ltd is a shipping and shipping-related services company based in Gujarat, India and was founded in 1995 as a partnership firm, but in late 2024, it became a public limited company. The company is promoted by Ashokkumar Haridas Lal and Jitendra Haridas Lal and it has more than 30 years of experience in integrated shipping and logistical services, with most of its services being dry bulk cargo shipping and logistics services. The company is involved in operations in the different ports and jetties, mainly the west coast of India, as well as in Sri Lanka and specializes in non-major ports and provides a single-window logistic solution to its customers.

Operations & Product Range

Facility & Production

The Shreeji Shipping Global owns a fleet of over 75 vessels and around 380 earthmoving equipment as of September 2024. It has an operation at over 20 ports and jetties, including the major ports such as Kandla and non-major ports such as Navlakhi, Magdalla, Bhavnagar, along with overseas ones such as Puttalam Port in Sri Lanka and Konta and Boffa in West Africa.

Brands & Market Presence

The shipping company focuses on important industries like Oil & Gas, Energy & Power, FMCG, Coal and metal industries and has long-term institutional contracts and presence in regional ports which are poorly served by the bigger companies.

Revenue Channels

Shreeji Shipping generates revenue primarily through:

  • Cargo handling (ship-to-ship lightering, stevedoring, cargo handling)
  • Transportation (dry bulk cargo port-to-premise and premise-to-port delivery)
  • Chartering of fleets and rentals of equipment (vessels and earthmoving machines)
  • Other operational income such as the sale of scrap and sundry activities

The revenue has been generated through diversified customers through their B2B model and emphasis on non-major ports. In FY 2024-25, the company reported a revenue of ₹607.60 crore under operations and an EBITDA of ₹200.6 crore and a profit after tax of ₹141.2 crore.

Management & Shareholding

Promoters & Shareholding

Ashokkumar Haridas Lal (Chairman & Managing Director, 28 years industry experience) and Jitendra Haridas Lal (Joint Managing Director, Science, Law degree, 28 years experience). Both the promoters have been with the company since its inception and are well known in allied industry associations and cooperative banks in the region. The promoters own 100 percent of the company at present and after the IPO, it will be 90 percent, reducing the promoter stake.

Board Members

The Board of Directors has independent directors such as Thomaskutty Varghese (a marine scientist who has a lot of experience in port planning) and Viral M Mamtora (a Chartered Accountant with 15 years of experience in finance).

IPO Objectives

  • Purchases of dry bulk carriers of supramax type (₹251.2 crore)
  • Settlement of prior debt as balance sheet enhancement (₹23 crore)
  • General corporate uses like infrastructure investment, working capital and other strategic plans

These objectives aim to enhance the company’s operational capabilities and financial position to support future growth.

Conclusion

The Shreeji Shipping Global IPO presents a prospect to the investors to join the growth of an established integrated shipping and logistics company with a firm presence in the emerging non-major port area of India. The company is well placed to take advantage of the expanding cargo handling market in India and adjacent states with experienced promoters, strong asset base and expansion and debt reduction strategies.
