We have found a 2018 BMW X3 on the used-car market listed at Rs. 23.5 lakh. It is powered by a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, which drives all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Other than the predictable perks like the BMW badge and great driving dynamics, it also gets a plethora of luxury amenities like wireless charging, a Harmon Kardon sound system, a panoramic sunroof, a reverse camera with park-assist, an electric tailgate, and a 10.25-inch screen with Apple CarPlay.
There are a couple of obvious negatives associated with owning such a German SUV. Get the car checked by a trusted mechanic, because maintenance could cost you dearly. Routine maintenance is already expensive, and if the car starts developing issues frequently, it could become a problem.
Land Rover Discovery Sport
For Rs. 24.71 lakh, you can get a 2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport. With the Discovery Sport, you get a 2.2-litre diesel engine mated to a nine-speed automatic gearbox and AWD. While the outside may seem modern enough, you can guess its true age on the inside. The cabin looks outdated due to the abundance of buttons and a rather dated infotainment system. Nonetheless, it offers a fair number of features, such as a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, powered front seats, and a reverse parking camera.
However, keep in mind that Land Rovers are notorious for unreliability. Spares and regular maintenance could be quite costly if the unit hasn’t been well-maintained. Keep aside a considerable sum of money if you do intend to purchase this car.
This 2018 Mercedes GLC is listed at Rs. 23.9 lakh. The GLC might sit lower in the Mercedes hierarchy than the GLE, but it still offers ample features to ensure your travels are as luxurious as possible. Some of the amenities include a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, a 7-inch infotainment screen and much more. These features may not seem that impressive, especially when compared to the Creta, but you are compensated for it with the Mercedes logo.
The Mercedes logo also stands for high maintenance. While the GLC isn’t associated with unreliability, the maintenance costs are still high.
