Tata Motors continued its strong momentum in June 2026, with Punch and Nexon emerging as India’s two best-selling passenger vehicles. While Maruti Suzuki dominated the overall Top 10 list with five models, Tata’s SUV-heavy lineup maintained its leadership at the top. Mahindra, Hyundai and Kia also secured positions in the SUV rankings.

Tata Nexon, including the Nexon EV, retained second place with 18,335 units, registering 58% YoY growth. The SUV sales chart closely mirrored the overall rankings, with Tata Punch once again leading the segment at 21,006 units. Tata Nexon followed with 18,335 units, giving Tata Motors the top two positions in India’s highly competitive SUV market. Mahindra Scorpio and Scorpio N secured third place with 14,097 units. Mahindra XUV 3XO, including the XUV 3XO EV, recorded sales of 10,063 units to finish sixth. Maruti Victoris registered 10,035 units while Brezza was the only model in the Top 10 to record a decline, with sales dropping 31.5% to 9,939 units. This is because Maruti will be launching new Brezza facelift later this month.
Kia Seltos registered one of the strongest growth rates among established models, rising 84.8% to 9,654 units, while Mahindra XUV 7XO completed the list with 9,244 units. Combined sales of the Top 10 SUVs stood at 1,26,284 units, reflecting a robust 49.5% year-on-year growth compared to 84,480 units sold in June 2025.
Hyundai Creta Missing
One notable absentee from the June 2026 Top 10 list is Hyundai Creta, which has consistently featured among India’s best-selling SUVs in recent years. Its absence is likely linked to the production disruption Hyundai faced during the month after a fire at one of its supplier’s manufacturing facilities. The company had earlier disclosed a production loss of around 13,900 units in June, while confirming that manufacturing returned to normal from June 22 and that the lost volumes are expected to be recovered during Q2 FY27.
