State-run iron ore producer NMDC reported a 2% year-on-year increase in standalone net profit to ₹2,007 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, compared with ₹1,969 crore in the year-ago period. It was also well above the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹1,989 crore.
Revenue from operations rose 2.4% year-on-year to ₹6,795 crore from ₹6,634 crore in Q1 FY26. However, the June quarter revenue was below the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹7,237 crore. Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization increased marginally to ₹2,470 crore from ₹2,479 crore a year ago, while EBITDA margin stood at 36.4%, compared with 37.4% in the year-ago quarter.
The EBITDA figure was slightly below the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹2,499 crore, while the EBITDA margin was above the poll estimate of 34.5%. Company said that revenue from the iron ore segment stood at ₹6,802.12 crore in the June quarter, compared with ₹6,199.15 crore a year ago.
Revenue from pellet, other minerals, products, services and others stood at ₹287.75 crore, against ₹460.42 crore in the year-ago quarter. In a separate development, earlier on August 8, the firm has fixed its iron ore prices, with Lump Ore priced at ₹5,250 per tonne and Fines at ₹4,500 per tonne.
Earlier, at the beginning of the month, the Hyderabad-based company shared its business update, in which it reported a rise in monthly and cumulative production from the Chhattisgarh and Karnataka sector. Total production rose to 4.06 metric tonne in July 2026, compared to 3.09 metric tonne in July 2025.
The cumulative figure stood at 19.16 metric tonne in July 2026, compared to 15.09 metric tonne a year ago. NMDC, incorporated in 1958 as a Government of India public enterprise, is the country’s largest producer of iron ore. Under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel, the company has also been involved in the exploration of minerals including copper, rock phosphate, limestone, magnesite, diamond, tungsten and beach sands.
Ahead of earning announcement, NMDC Ltd ended Friday’s trading session at ₹84.00 on the NSE, down 1.18% from the previous close.
