Reddit user captures Kia Syros EV during what appears to be a TVC shoot in Bengaluru, revealing exterior design and cabin glimpse
Kia India’s upcoming Syros EV has been spotted completely undisguised ahead of its expected launch. Fresh images shared by a Reddit user show the electric SUV parked on a public road in Bengaluru, reportedly during a television commercial (TVC) shoot. These are among the clearest real-world images of the production-spec Syros EV yet, following the recent leak of its expected battery specifications and claimed driving range.
Kia Syros EV Spotted In Bengaluru
The latest sighting confirms several design elements that distinguish the electric version from the standard ICE-powered Syros while retaining the familiar boxy silhouette. Unlike heavily camouflaged test mules seen previously, this vehicle wears no camouflage, giving a complete look at the production design.
Finished in a silver shade, the Syros EV features a closed-off front fascia replacing the conventional grille seen on the petrol model. The charging port is neatly integrated into the nose section, while the front bumper has been redesigned with EV-specific styling.
The signature vertically stacked LED DRLs and headlamp layout have been retained, although the bumper treatment is unique to the electric version. The SUV also gets aero-optimised alloy wheels designed to improve efficiency. At the rear, the familiar upright tailgate and vertical LED tail lamps continue, maintaining the distinctive Syros styling. The rear bumper receives EV-specific inserts finished in silver, complementing the front bumper design.
One of the images also offers a glimpse inside the cabin through the windshield. While reflections obscure most details, the dashboard layout appears similar to the ICE Syros, with a large integrated display setup expected to house the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system.
Battery Options Likely Shared With Carens Clavis EV
The undisguised sighting comes shortly after key details of the Syros EV’s expected battery options surfaced online. While Kia India has not officially confirmed these specifications, the electric SUV is expected to share its battery technology with Hyundai Creta EV and Kia Carens Clavis EV.
Reports suggest Syros EV could be offered with two battery pack options – a 42 kWh unit delivering a claimed range of up to 443 km, and a larger 51.4 kWh battery offering a claimed range of up to 520 km. Despite using the same battery capacities as its siblings, Syros EV is expected to achieve a higher driving range owing to its smaller size and lighter overall weight.
Lifetime Battery Warranty Expected
Another specification that recently surfaced online is a 15-year or lifetime battery warranty, although Kia India has not officially announced this. Reports also suggest the SUV could be offered with a standard three-year vehicle warranty, extendable up to seven years or 1.6 lakh km, along with a buyback assurance programme.
Kia India has already teased upcoming HEV and BEV models for the Indian market, indicating that multiple electrified products are on the way. Syros EV is expected to be launched in coming weeks, ahead of Sorento Hybrid.
