A stock market investor claimed on X platform that he lost Rs 57 lakh by investing in TCS, Infosys shares and has sought advice from netizens to recoup his losses.
"Rs 57 LAKHS GONE. My life savings destroyed in TCS & Infosys. From Rs 1.72 CRORE → Rs 1.15 CRORE in months. -33% bloodbath. I kept averaging down like an idiot. Ignored every stop-loss. Thought I was smarter than the market," said X user @SystemTraderIN.
"Now I’m just crying, can’t sleep, can’t eat. Completely broken. This is what overconfidence does to you.
Sell everything and accept this nightmare? Or keep holding the bags? Be brutally honest… I don’t know what to do anymore," he added.
He said this loss is affecting his algo trading as well.
"Thought I was the smart one who’d catch the bottom. Everything went completely wrong. I averaged down like a total idiot, ignored every stop-loss, and now I’m destroyed. This loss is killing me… my pledged capital is also crashing, giving me serious margin issues in my daily algo trading. Everything is falling apart at once. I feel so broken and stupid."
He said these investments were his "contra" bets to make "quick money".
"This TCS & Infosys disaster was a manual contra bet I took personally for quick money. I never put it in any algo. I thought I was smart, kept averaging down by hand, ignored my own stop-loss rules like an idiot.
My algo strategies that I sell to others have nothing to do with this stock trading mistake. This was pure human overconfidence and greed. Now it’s destroying my pledged capital and creating margin issues even for my algo trading," the X user said.
X users advised him to bide his time and that his losses could be recouped.
"Don't worry your prices will come but you have to give time..... after correction they will bounce....!!
Don't average down...... just log off your demat, don't see them daily," said one X user.
"Indian IT companies currently are facing the heat due to boom in AI which is not core to Indian IT. Once the AI bubble bursts a little, these should do well," said another X user.
"Either book the loss if you are stuck in financial crisis , else hold it for 1-2 years , you can get the your money back . No one has excepted such downside in it sector and specially Largecap," said one X user.
