Shares of Finolex Cables gained over 10% to hit a 52-week high of Rs 1,375 on the BSE on Wednesday after the company reported strong financial results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026.

Finolex Cables reported a 52.6% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 208.2 crore in the June quarter, compared with Rs 136.4 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

Revenue from operations surged 44.3% YoY to Rs 2,013.15 crore in Q1 FY27, crossing the Rs 2,000-crore mark. The company posted revenue of Rs 1,395.52 crore in the year-ago period. Total income rose to Rs 2,064.64 crore from Rs 1,449.64 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Finolex Cables' consolidated EBITDA jumped 79% YoY to Rs 244.2 crore in Q1 from Rs 136.3 crore in the year-ago quarter. Operating EBITDA margin expanded by more than 230 basis points to 12.1% compared to 9.8% in Q1 FY26, driven by higher operational efficiencies and product realisations.

The rise in value growth was supported by elevated copper prices, which led Finolex Cables to implement price hikes in May 2026. In volume terms, electrical wires grew 7% YoY, backed by steady demand across agricultural, industrial, and solar power applications.

The electrical cables division remained the principal growth driver, posting a 47% increase in segment revenue to Rs 1,767.45 crore, up from Rs 1,205.71 crore in Q1 FY26.

Segment profit for electrical cables increased to Rs 181.97 crore from Rs 117.38 crore in the year-ago quarter.

The communication cables segment saw a notable turnaround, with revenue jumping 62% YoY to Rs 176.47 crore against Rs 108.84 crore. Segment profit from communication cables rose to Rs 52.52 crore from Rs 1.30 crore in Q1 FY26, aided by higher optic fibre cable volumes and better realisations.

During the quarter, operations at the company's copper rod manufacturing plant faced temporary suspension due to limited availability of LPG and PNG linked to Middle East supply disruptions. Consequently, revenue from the copper rods segment fell to Rs 8.01 crore from Rs 403.42 crore in Q1 FY26, resulting in a segment loss of Rs 3.41 crore.
