Electrical appliances major Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd on Thursday reported a consolidated net profit of ₹141 crore for the first quarter of FY27, up 14.8% from ₹122 crore in the corresponding period last year.Revenue from operations increased 11.8% year-on-year to ₹2,235 crore from ₹1,998 crore in the year-ago quarter. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation rose 14.2% to ₹224.4 crore, compared with ₹192 crore in the same period last year. EBITDA margin stood at 10% in Q1 FY27, compared with 9.6% in Q1 FY26.The company's net profit was below the CNBC-TV18 poll estimate of ₹143 crore. Revenue came in lower than the poll expectation of ₹2,300 crore, while EBITDA was below the estimate of ₹232 crore. The company said commodity inflation led to cost escalation across categories, following which it undertook calibrated price hikes ranging from high single-digit to low double-digit across categories.EBITDA margin expanded by 20 basis points year-on-year to 10%, supported by disciplined pricing actions, operating leverage and cost initiatives. Earnings before interest and tax and profit before tax grew ahead of revenue growth at 14.1% and 15.2%, respectively. EBIT margin improved by 10 basis points to 8%, while PBT margin expanded by 30 basis points to 8.6%.In the Electrical Consumer Durables segment, fans reported strong performance despite supply constraints, led by brushless direct current fans, followed by TPW and ceiling fans. Crompton also rolled out its business-to-consumer solar pumps business during the quarter.Domestic appliances recorded double-digit growth, led by water heaters. The company said its position in water heaters strengthened, with improving market share in trade and on Amazon. Kitchen appliances continued to see traction in induction and cooktops, while the air fryer portfolio was expanded with new launches. ECD EBIT margin improved by 20 basis points to 13.5%.The lighting segment maintained sequential momentum, driven by strong double-digit growth in both B2C and business-to-business segments. B2C growth was led by ceiling lights, with new product development contributing significantly. Key projects included Google data center, NTT data center, ISRO, Tata Steel and JSW. EBIT in the lighting segment grew 9.2% year-on-year to ₹32 crore, with EBIT margin at 12%. Margin declined 70 basis points due to pre-contracted B2B order rates carrying higher input costs amid commodity inflation, despite expansion in B2C margins.Butterfly reported revenue of ₹214 crore, up 14.1% year-on-year, driven by broad-based growth across offline and online channels. The Idea First series continued to perform well across product categories, while the company gained market share in mixer grinders, pressure cookers and glass cooktops.Auxiliary categories also recorded strong growth, supported by relaunches across induction cooktops, infrared cooktops and electric rice cookers. Butterfly's EBITDA rose 17.2% year-on-year to ₹15 crore, with EBITDA margin expanding 20 basis points to 7%.
