Ms. Janakiraman's appointment as ED is a testament to her extensive experience and expertise within the RBI. Prior to her promotion, she was serving as Chief General Manager-in-charge, Department of Regulation, Central Office, Mumbai.

About Usha Janakiraman

Experience: Over three decades of experience in the RBI, with expertise in various areas including regulation, external investment, operations, banking supervision, public debt management, currency management, and more.
Designation: Executive Director (ED) of the RBI, responsible for overseeing the Department of Supervision (Risk, Analytics, and Vulnerability Assessment).
Qualifications: Chartered Accountant (CA)

As Executive Director, Ms. Janakiraman will be instrumental in shaping the RBI's regulatory policies and ensuring the stability of the Indian banking system.
